Librarian of the Month: April 2020:
JLG’s April Librarian of the Month honor goes to Billerica Memorial High School and Rachel Bouhanda. She has been a school librarian for over a decade and has been creating new resources for students all while transitioning to a new library space!
Speed up inventory with technology that fits in your hand:
Laura Edwards, the Discovery and Access Team Leader at the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) Libraries, and her team began “a comprehensive inventory of our collection when we implemented WorldShare® [Management Services] a couple years ago.”
Therm-O-Disc workers help “ReStore” the community:
Local Therm-O-Disc employees carried their Fourth of July celebration into July 5th by volunteering at the Ontario Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Therm-O-Disc volunteers included Chris Borland, Samantha Creager, Holly Damron, Esther Goodell, Shannon Reutter, Madeline Rogowski, Gary Stansberry and Josh Verspoor, and their supervisor Alicia Frado.
Two COBE students won the IdeaLabs Competition this April with their inspiring plan for EFC Solutions Inc. Christian Price, a junior Entrepreneurship, Business management, and Finance major from Granville, Ohio, and ELizabeth Paydo, a sophomore Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain major from Wadsworth, Ohio, hope to help place foster children into foster care homes more quickly.
Dauch's Day of Giving Recap:
College of Business and Economics students, alumni, faculty, and community won two competitions on the Day of Giving. COBE started off the day by winning the Eagle Rising competition, which was awarded to the group that made the most donations and voted for the COBE team between 6am and noon. The day-long competition was awarded to COBE for collecting the most donations from 6am to midnight.
Ashland MBA: An International Experience:
Ashland University's MBA program has welcomed students from all around the world in its 39 years of existence. The cultural diversity provided by international students along with their business work experience add a richness to the classroom that is a true educational experience for all students.
The College of Business' Drive for the Highest Level of Accreditation:
On May 22, 2017, President Camp signed the application for AACSB initial accreditation for the College of Business and Economics (COBE). The accreditation will cover both the college's undergraduate and graduate degrees. AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, has the goal of creating the next generation of leaders.
